I've been obsessed with the band fcukers recently. I'm listening to them as I write this because I'm trying to drown out the sound of the Doors coming from my friend's bathroom while she takes a shower (nothing against the Doors, just not in the mood). I would show them to her, but she's really not into electronic stuff at all.

Their music's not that complicated, pretty simple dance stuff, but the vocalist just emanates this cool energy. She's got this whispery tone to her voice that adds a more laid back tone to the driving basslines in the instrumentals, and it somehow lets her pull off saying complete nonsense lyrics like "Go in the streets and I getcha bon bon."

They've got a new album coming out soon, and I've been replaying the singles over and over while I work. It's got the perfect amount of energy to keep my mind busy so I can focus, while also not being too intense that I can't think. I'm glad to be getting into more elctronic stuff recently, because I think it'll provide good inspiration for my own music, or at least better than the singer-songwriter stuff I've been listening to recently. It's kind of hard to emulate the vibe of a sad woman playing the guitar with MIDI instrument presets.
